To Insert A Facebook Badge To Your WordPress Blog Is Easy!

You have two options; either insert your Facebook Fanpage’s “like box”, or your personal “profile badge”.

To get the Fanpage Like Box code to put into your WordPress blog, go to:

https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like-box/

And to get your Facebook profile badge, like this one I had on one of my old blogs:

To get the code to your badge; go to your personal profile on Facebook, and scroll down and look below your friends-list on the left hand side on your profile.

There you’ll find a link that says “Add a badge to your site”

Click on that and you’re redirected to where you can create the code:

When you’re done editing/creating your badge, click on “Other” to get the code to your WordPress blog; copy the code and go back to your WordPress back office > Appearance > Widgets, and when there, pull the box where it says “Text” to your sidebar, and paste the code in it and save.

When you have pasted the code in the Text-box, you can alter it to make it look better, like I have done in the image below. You don’t have to do this, you can leave it as it is.

But if you chose to change the code, be sure to only remove the text that’s between the > and <, just as you see I have done in the pic. It’s very important that you remove only that, because if you delete something else in the code the badge gets ruined. (I wrote ‘highlighted’ in the pic but meant underscored)

A good idea if you have never done this before is to open up a WordPad (Go to Start on your computer and write wordpad in there and it comes up) and paste the code in there so you have it if you’d screw up the code

And there you have it! The badge should be in your sidebar now, but if it isn’t, go to Settings > WP Super Cache > Delete Cache, and then go back to your home page and look again.
