I want to share a conversation that I’m currently having with one of my readers, his name is Bob and with his permission I’ll share below what he wrote to me.

He wrote:

Dear Maria,

I think the content on your website has addressed my concerns.

I’ve been through a dark night of the soul, leaving me with substantially reduced ego and much reduced negative and involuntary thoughts.

Your website describes what I am experiencing now.

Eckhart Tolle’s teaching’s have taught me to be present and you have assured me that this no mans land feeling is normal.

The question I have is whether you could connect people going through this awakening process to share the experience and have liked minded people to talk to.

I find it difficult having no one to talk to and I’m sure others do.

The post below is a reply to the following email I received from him:

Dear Maria,

Thanks for your email and I was impressed with the speed of your response.

I read your response through the link that you provided but I couldn’t figure out where to write my comments where you say “leave your comments and thoughts below and continue the conversation”.

Hence this email.

I have no problem at all sharing my feelings, thoughts and experiences of my transition with people that really understand and can relate to the change that I am experiencing.

If I discussed this with my family and social circle they would have no idea what I was talking about and probably think I’d joined the Moonies!!

I have met a couple of people recently who described themselves as “spiritual” but I could tell that they had no appreciation whatsoever of my current state when I explained it to them.

When people claim to be spiritual I’m finding that this often means they have an academic interest in all things labelled spiritual but are not integrating this knowledge into their thinking, behaviour or using it to advance their spiritual development.

Recently I met someone that believed she was more far more spiritual than I am simply because she had read many books that I hadn’t!!

I appreciate the opportunities that you put forward to communicate with others via your blog and also to be able to talk to you.

They are useful indeed but I suppose I was thinking of also providing a forum that could lead to people who are at similar stages in their transition actually socialising in person, depending where they live in relation to each other, and perhaps becoming friends.

When I read the contents of my email on your website I realised that I hadn’t given you the credit you deserve for the content provided on your website.

It is wonderfully inspiring, very practical and well written.

Thank you so much I’m so glad that I found you.

I would like to meet/talk to you on Skype sometime soon and I will arrange this through the website.

I shall also try and figure out how to put my comments on the blog on your website rather than emailing you in future.

I would also love to be able to arrange for you to give a talk to a group locally but I just don’t know people that would be interested.

I am very happy for you to post this if you think it will help others and also to give out my name.

Thank you for being so open and authentic, I love that 🙂

I absolutely love receiving questions and topic requests, and really; you all inspire me so much and I love writing for you so whenever I see an email with the subject-line “Ask Maria” it makes me so happy.

And I usually get right to it and write an article immediately if I have the time to do so simply because I love it 🙂

Back to your question;

I appreciate your openness and I also understand what you mean by people not understanding what you’re talking about.

There’s a difference between being “spiritual” and being “spiritually mature”, and I know exactly what it means and I experience it often in different ways.

A couple of months ago or so for example I arranged a spiritual meeting here in Costa del Sol where I was going to talk about self-awareness and intuition and about seven people came to my talk but only one of them ‘kind of’ got what I was talking about.

They actually thought that I was a psychic and was going to teach them how to communicate with ‘the other side’.

They thought that was what I meant with intuition, and the self-awareness subject was more or less pointless simply because the one who turned up to the meeting was their ego so they couldn’t actually hear what I had to say. 

So anyway, I quickly realized that they were on a different level and so after that meeting I didn’t have anymore meetings at that particular place because the ‘audience’ was more of a new age type of audience and what I have to offer has nothing to do with that.

That’s just how it is; we are all on different levels of maturity but most people are still on a immature level of growth and consciousness.

I’m not saying it’s wrong or bad, I’m just sharing what I see and experience in my own life and in the work that I do.

I know that many people who are going through an authentic awakening process and that are dedicated to go through it come hell or high water has no one around them that has the slightest idea about what they are experiencing, so it can be a lonely path for many people. 

Most people have no clue about what awakening is so they can’t relate to it in any way or form, it’s outside of their understanding and perception.

It’s like trying to explain grown-up things to children (and children are not ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’, they are just children), it’s just a fact of life that they can’t relate to or understand what you’re talking about.

On this path there’s not many who actually wake up because they never grow up spiritually, but for those who do go all the way through all the different processes and transformations that this path requires; it’s for those I want to be here for. 

So thank you for your suggestion of adding a forum to my website, I think it’s a great idea that you presented to me so I will look into the possibility of creating one where people can socialize and meet and maybe form friendships and so on.

But it can take a few weeks for me to create and add one so until then I hope you all use the comments section to post your thoughts and whatever else is on your hearts, and as I mentioned before I also love when you submit questions and topic requests via “Ask Maria”.

And thank you for appreciating my work and what I do Bob, it means a lot to me to hear that it’s helpful and inspiring to you 🙂
