Never Settle For Less Than What God Has Promised You
How do you know what God has promised you?
Let’s talk about that.
One thing I absolutely believe is that most people don’t ask for what they want, they behave like wimps before God and they don’t ask boldly and expectantly for what is theirs by divine right.
Most people don’t even know what the promises of God is!
I’m going to be on your case today – I’m really going to challenge you to challenge yourself;
I’m on fire about this and especially today! 😀
You can appreciate this; you can either appreciate this or you can let your ego get offended and miss the whole point and blessing in this message.
I want to ask you something, and I want you to be totally honest with yourself, really think this over, ponder it for a moment:
When you wake up in the morning, how do you usually feel? What’s the first thing on your mind?
Do you say “good morning God” with a happy heart, or is your heart more like , .. well, kind of flat-lined, stuck in a routine of the same old same old?
If so, how would you like to feel? Think about this.
How would it be to wake up every morning feeling good, wonderful and ready to do what you feel called to do – to feel that you’re doing something purposeful and that brings you a sense of fulfillment?
When we live according to God’s will everyday is filled with growth and newness, there’s no ‘same old, same old’ with God.
How does your life look; are you growing everyday or are you just growing older?
Do you think thoughts like “well, this is good enough for me, I don’t really want anything special”?
If you do then you’re deceiving yourself and you’re missing out on life.
Are you telling yourself that you’re too old, or that you don’t have this or that (=making excuses), that things are too hard “with this economy and all”, then you’re deceiving yourself and you’re living a lie, a life built on lies.
God’s will for your life – God’s plan for your life doesn’t depend on the world economy, it doesn’t depend on who you know or what you have or don’t have and it certainly doesn’t depend on your age!
People grow old not because of age but because of the lack of enthusiasm in their life.
Loosing your zest for life is to die before you die, and not in a good way.
I mean you might as well go out and pick out your coffin if you don’t have anything to live for anymore and then just rot away. Seriously.
Where did the joy go? Where did you stop believing in yourself? When did you deviate from your (true) path?
I know when that happened; when you settled! That’s when it happened.
When you chose to settle somewhere along the way, for something that is way less than what God has intended for you.
I hope this touches you in a deep way and that you decide to make some adjustments if you recognize yourself in what I’m sharing here today, that you decide to get back on track with yourself so that you can get your passion back – your life back!
It’s not enough to be “okay happy” – we should all be “really happy” – not just okay.
We should have something we feel passionate about, and we all have it – it’s right there in your heart.
Get in touch with that again.
Get fired up about your life!
Wherever you are, you have the power to make a new choice right now.
You can make a new choice.
And as you do, know this; your situation is nothing compared to God’s power – but if you make it bigger than God then you have made your situation your God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us. – Ephesians 3:20
Stop making God small!
Living under his will – the mind-blowingly powerful God of ours – breaks the curse of your limited mind if you but gave him a chance to show his power in your life.
Never settle for less than what God has promised you.
Most people don’t talk to God as much as they should and definitely not in the way that they should.
Yes, I know, I don’t like the word ‘should’ either but in this case I really have to use it; we really should listen to God more than we listen to the ego voice or the voice of the world.
And the communication style when talking with God just has to change.
God doesn’t want to hear about what you don’t have, about your complains, misery and self-pity; he wants you to go to him and boldly communicate with him about your inheritance as a child of the most high.
It’s time for you to start collecting and receiving what is yours by divine right, and one of the greatest blessings you can ever receive is the blessing to know who God really is, his character, his goodness, his love and generosity, so I invite you to meditate on these questions today:
- What are your promises for me God, and what does it mean to live in the kingdom of God?
- What is the greatest vision you have for my life, what are your assignments for me God?
- What is the next step in my evolution, I want to know because I’m ready to move on up and forward with you!”
Write the questions down and take them with you and go out somewhere in nature where you can be totally on your own with God and let him speak to you about these things.
This is what he wants to talk to you about!
You need to know him (not just what others has told you about him, or what you have read about him), you need to have a promise to stand on, so spend a day with God talking about all these kinds of things, and know this; once God has touched you can’t go back to who you were before, you can never go back to the dark ages!
This is so powerful because while you might think that you are waiting on God, he’s actually waiting for you to come to him and let him know that you’re ready to live your true life.
Don’t allow yourself to become lazy and complacent, indifferent, or content with what you know is lesser than what you’re suppose to have.
You’ll never discover what’s inside of you unless you dedicate yourself to find it out for yourself.
Go to God today, ask him to show you and teach you about him, who he is, what he has for you, even ask him to bless you!
Yes, I’m serious.
I’m not the slightest timid around God, I’m not afraid of approaching him so to speak, so yes, I ask for blessings, I ask to be a blessing, I ask for revelations and I ask for all kinds of things that has to do with Truth because I don’t accept to live my life by anything less than the Truth.
I love God and I know that he appreciates my boldness and I want you to understand me right because there’s humbleness in all this as well – to be fearless doesn’t mean you’re arrogant or that you’re demanding towards God in any way.
But what I mean is that we should all stand our ground and not settle for what the world tells us that we can or cannot have!
The best God has to offer is available to you, it’s how we’re all suppose to live, so don’t settle.
The main reason most aren’t receiving his best is because they are willing to settle for less.
Very few are committed to God’s best.
We have been influenced and conditioned to accept far less than what God has provided and promised us.
“Good enough” is not good enough!
Sadly, rather than expecting the good things in life, most people are willing to settle for ‘good enough’, whatever area of life it might be; relationships, careers (or jobs), who they marry, where they live and so on.
They think that they can’t get any better, or they have come to believe (been conditioned to think) that that’s “good enough” for them.
I personally know that God has the right friends for me, the right person for me when it comes to my love life, the right opportunities for the work that I do, the right house for me (which I know is in Los Angeles:) and the ‘right’ whatever it is, so I don’t ever settle for the second best.
If I don’t have peace about something or someone (=God’s green light), I don’t go there; I stay away from it/them.
Don’t ever settle!
If you do, you are not honoring the God within you.
This has everything to do with the lack of self-love and self-respect, not to mention distrusting God to have a specific assignment for your life that only you can do, that you’re actually obligated to do and give to the world.
If you’re not sharing your talents, gifts, interests, passions, calling, and so on, you are robbing other people from their blessing that only you can give them.
Think about that!
You deserve the best, and they deserve the best.
And the best comes from God.
