Is Your Life a Conditioned State?

Whenever there’s some kind of clinging going on, whether it’s to other people (as in “I love you, phleeeease love me back or I won’t be fulfilled and happy”), to ideas and dogmas (as in “this is the truth, I am right and you are wrong”), or clinging to the past in some way.

This could be in a resentful way where we hold grudges and are totally unwilling to forgive and let go, or it could be in a romanticized way as in “life was sooo much better before”, and we never move beyond the fading memories of the better times we used to have in the past. (And other people get sick of hearing the same old stories! 😀 )

When the ego is not willing to look at what is right now, when we find ourselves saying things like “I’ll think about that tomorrow, I do that tomorrow”, not in a procrastinating way, but in a way of lacking the willingness to be aware of what is presented in the now-moment and move with it right away. (It goes deeper than procrastination).

Tomorrow never comes, it’s always now, and not be willing to actually see what is in front of us right now prevents insights from happening (or to be received), so life is always projected into the future, which never comes.

If you’re not particularly bound to your past or imagined future, then there’s tradition (just look at how many people resent the stressful times during Christmas and how the very same people many times celebrate it because it’s expected from the world around them that they should).

Or how about the thousands of years of human suffering that we are still living?

Yes, we are.

On some level we all are influenced and only when we allow ourselves to look closely do we come to realize the Truth that we are actually free from all that.

Only when the mind is occupied with what the world expects and craves will we continue to be bound to it.

We go through life thinking we have to live in a certain way, behave in a certain way, believe and think in a certain way, depending on our culture and its heritage.

What is looked at as being ‘wrong’ in the west may be the total opposite in the east.

Just look at the dog-eating-thing.. it’s completely okay to eat dogs in some countries, while I personally would vomit if I knew I had just had dog for dinner.

Not that I would ever do that as I’m a vegetarian but you get my point. (And I’m not saying anything is wrong or right).

The human suffering comes from the core belief that you should go to school, get an education, make money, find love, get married, get 2 and a half kids, a car and the white fence and all that. (Again; nothing wrong with that, I’m just pointing out the importance of being totally honest with yourself; maybe you don’t even want that if you investigate a bit deeper).

That is something we have been taught and basically trained to believe and not many ever question that.

Question everything!

Just look at it closely and ask yourself if that is something that really resonates with you at all, and consider the opposite, and also the totally unknown to open yourself up to that which is true and real within you.

Even look beyond the concept of “God”; see what’s beyond the name “God”; what is left when you remove the word..?

The environment also adds to the conditioning; the people we surround ourselves with affects us and we them. If we spend time in nature or not affects how we treat it and honor it. The work we do, if it feels meaningful or not, and the people we work with, if we feel united with the cause and purpose or not.

All those things are important to look into.

Not in an analyzing way, but with curious and attentive awareness.

We free ourselves by awareness and by looking into the ways of the mind. By seeing the false clearly we are able to let Truth be revealed to us.

See if any of the nonsense it presents you is even something you will want to continue accepting as being true and real.

When we let go of all the adjustments we are making in order to fit into other peoples personalities, temperaments and expectations, or the adjustments we are making in order to fit into the beliefs of the world, only then do we liberate ourselves and become free.

Instead we can just be what we are with each other. How wonderful would that be? 🙂

It is possible, and it all begins with You and I.

And sure, you will meet opposition when you start to listen to your own inner song and dance to It instead of the worlds, there will be challenges on the path, but who cares!

This is it, right now – who’s standards and values are you basing your life on, in truth?

Look closely and honestly.

PS: I’m on RebelMouse now too:

Life has a magical way of clicking into place once you get in alignment with it.

Once you’re freed from the past and blockages are released and dissolved, a sense of renewal and liberation comes over you and you’re able to move forward in life with a new sense of aliveness and inner joy, peace and confidence.

You have been an amazing addition to my life!

Thank you for all of the wonderful light, and love that you send out into the world. You are indeed an inspiration even though we are half way across the world – isn’t that wonderful! It is a privilege that is not taken lightly. Thank you Maria!
