Regressing back to ego consciousness
Reverting back to the old self, or the ego self and old habits and ways, is very common in any transformational process.
When this happens to you – Forgive yourself and move on! Don’t get stuck in regret, self-judgment and loathing, guilt and so on.
Know that it’s part of the process to go back and forth for a while in any transformational process, or in an awakening process, so don’t beat yourself up for any mistakes or misaligned choices you’ve made.
Simply acknowledge it happened, get up and dust yourself off and move on with your life from the perspective of the higher awareness you gained from the experience.
The reverting back to the old happens because the mind is not yet established in the new level of consciousness, that’s all.
So simply redirect your mind and energy again towards the new and it will begin to become your dominant state and level of consciousness and vibration.
Awakening can be inconsistent (we go back and forth) for a while until the remnants of ego there is left to deal with has been cleared out so to speak.
Here’s a very old article of mine that came to mind that will be helpful to you:

It’s very common to relapse or revert back to the old a few times before we get established in the new level of consciousness, or have it integrated into our Being as ‘us’.
You can see the going back and forth for a little while as the ego, or the conditioned self, doing its little dance before it realizes it is no longer going to be your predominant state of being.

You can also just surrender to your highest destiny and let go into the flow – It’s literally the most powerful and liberating thing you can ever do in life.

“If you correct your mind, the rest of your life will fall into place.” ― Lao Tzu
You don’t have to become a perfect version of yourself, a more this or that, but actually only drop what you’re not, or let go of aspects of yourself that you have outgrown.
