Reiki Healing and “My” Healing is the same energy
My Reiki Healing Journey
I got into Reiki in the beginning of the new millennium sometime when I was in rehab for my drug addiction.
The rehab center had an alternative focus so in addition to traditional psychotherapy and Gestalt therapy we also received a myriad of different alternative treatments and Reiki healing was one of them.
I stayed in the rehab program for over two years and received countless of treatments and during my time there I also completed my Reiki healing course and got my Master initiation shortly after.
In fact, I did Reiki level 1, 2 and 3 several times because the rehab center owners facilitated courses on a regular basis and I participated in all of them.
During my time at the rehab center I also gave countless of Reiki healing treatments to the others in the program as well as to people from the outside who were coming to the center for treatments.
Then later when I had left the rehab center I met a private teacher who initiated me to the Master level.
All levels in Reiki are first and foremost about self-healing and then when you have completed your own healing journey, then you can become a teacher (or “Reiki Master”).
Not everybody does this of course, instead they impatiently rush towards the “Master degree” and skip their own healing journey and become ‘Masters’ before they are really ready for it.
That’s one of the reasons I don’t like labels like that, to me they really mean nothing, it’s just a word.
Anyways,
So I was initiated in all three Reiki degrees as well as trained and initiated to Master/teacher degree, following the original method of Dr. Mikao Usui where we used the ancient (original) symbols.
But as I said, I don’t call myself a Reiki Healer, or Reiki Master.
I have learned a lot of different healing styles and modalities over the years and to me all healing is the same.
We just use different names for them and have different focus, depending on our personal uniqueness and approach.
I don’t want to label myself – it would feel restricting
For example; I’m trained in different body work modalities as well, such as acupressure, but I don’t work with those things anymore.
I do however use the experiences I’ve had from all the different modalities that I’ve learned and used throughout the years.
And while Reiki healing is a healing modality that heals on both the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level, my work nowadays is focused on all levels except for the physical.
This is because my overall work is about the inner world and not the body.
There are other people who work with that area and who can call themselves experts in that, but my expertise or ‘specialty’ is on energy, on the spiritual, mental and emotional plane.
Different healers – different focus
Some people specialize in working with animals for example, some others specialize in giving healing to children or to people who has physical illnesses and pains.
And some even use their healing abilities to clear and cleanse houses from ‘negative energy’!
Whatever modality and form someone uses, it doesn’t change the healing energy because it’s the one and same energy, only differently channeled and focused.
I have worked out a unique blend of all the different methods of healing that I’ve learned as well as all the different methods for self-understanding and life transformation that I’ve used throughout the years.
Each style, method and system I’ve ever learned has obviously brought me its own gifts, but I like to continue evolving and growing so I will never put myself into a box where I call myself this or that.
Reiki: Rei Ki
Reiki is a Japanese word, or actually it’s two words; “Rei” and “Ki”, which means “universal life energy”, but there are many different words one can use about the same energy, words such as Chi, Prana, etc.
It’s the same thing, just different ways of using and working with it; the principle behind them remains the one and the same.
It’s universal life energy
You could even call it Love.
A healer (Reiki, as well as other types of healers) are channels for that life force energy and ‘sends’ it to the recipient allowing it to flow to where it is needed.
And even though my work is highly intuitive, I also direct the healing energy by focus and intention and that’s an important part of any healing work; to have a “goal” (intention) with it.
I don’t work with children or people with physical issues and pains but I occasionally give healing to cats and dogs but it’s not a service I provide.
It’s just something I do for my friends pets and also my own (when I used to have pets in the past).
The clients that I have are people who wish to progress and further their personal growth and evolution.
Meaning they are genuinely interested in personal development and transformation.
They don’t just want relief but they also want transformation so they take responsibility for their part of the healing process.
Healing for self-realization
People today have distanced themselves from a natural way to live in balance with themselves and are therefor full of stress and anxiety.
Most people are very much up in their heads, worrying about everything and find it difficult to relax and just be with themselves and life.
With healing we get back into the flow again, back in harmony with ourselves, and with that comes of course a new sense of joy and zest for life.
Healing sessions helps us resolve mental, emotional and spiritual tension and blockages and we become more present in ourselves and with your own inner truth.
Some of the things that healing can help you with:
- Reduce stress and anxiety, and promote good sleep and inner peace.
- Free up suppressed feelings and help you work through your ‘stuff’ and relieve emotional pain.
- Get deeper insight and understanding of your situation so that you can see the way forward in life.
- Increases creativity, intuition, and the ability to take constructive action.
- Healing is soothing and allows the body and mind to relax and let go – something most people desperately need today!
– And so much more.
My healing method is intuitive which means that I work with and follow the intuitive guidance that I receive during the session and it shows me exactly where to go so that the healing energy can do its work.
I’m only a tool ( or “channel”) of the healing energy and the healing power knows exactly what needs to be done in you and your life.
I can direct it but I can’t control it in regards to its power.
A healing session can be a life-changing experience where the energies will continue to work with you long after the healing treatment.
The effects of healing can show themselves days, weeks, and months after a session, but one can never predict how it’s going to unfold for your uniquely.
How many healing sessions do you need?
It depends on where you’re at in your life, what issues or challenges you have, how serious they are and so on.
If you’re in for a complete life transformation then the healing sessions can be done more frequently.
Having a healing session right after a coaching session helps integrate all the things that has been talked about and helps you move forward faster than if you hadn’t had a healing session.
It’s all very personal and as your journey unfolds we will together look into your progress and review what happens along the way.
You can have an instant relief and liberation from whatever it is you’re going through as well.
I’ve had many instant releases myself when I was on my own (very intensive) healing journey many years ago, especially from fear (anxiety), which was a huge thing for me back then.
I can still remember one particular healing session where a huge chunk of fear left my being in one go and it still brings tears to my eyes thinking of it.
It was life-changing for me because it was from that moment on I surrendered fully to my healing process and when it could really take off.
Healing is a powerful tool for personal and spiritual growth and improves the overall quality of life.
It helps to expand your awareness, opens up your consciousness, and it’s a great ally in any kind of change processes, crises, and other challenging situations that one can go through in life.
Sometimes people ask me if they ‘take’ my energy and I say absolutely not!
No, I don’t give away my energy – that’s not how it works
It doesn’t drain me the slightest (actually the opposite happens) and no one is taking my energy from me, it doesn’t work that way.
I am able to feel the clients ‘stuff’ but I don’t necessary get any details (only if it’s important and if it needs to be forwarded to the client).
It’s not unusual at all that I feel other peoples emotional state, whatever they are feeling; sadness, grief etc, and sometimes I even feel their body aches.
But the difference is that I know it’s not mine so I’m not negatively affected by it.
I learned to both to understand and deal with being like this many years ago when I first started to use Reiki healing on others.
I could cry their tears, I could feel their back pain, and I could even tell when someone had relapsed because I felt their ‘high’ and knew immediately that they had left the rehab center.
So I learned to differentiate what was mine and what was other peoples stuff and the way I can describe it is that there’s no emotional reaction on my part on the emotions themselves, if that makes any sense.
The energy flows through me
For example, if I cry someone else’s tears, I’m not feeling the sadness, I just know it’s there, but I have a distance to it.
I can sense what it’s about, but I don’t have to know any details, I just feel gratitude over the fact that the client doesn’t have to feel the feelings and can release them through me instead.
This is when I feel very strongly what it means to be a “channel” and not the one ‘doing’ the healing and it fills me with such love and appreciation for the power of it.
I feel deeply honored to be used in this way (by Life), I don’t know how else to describe it.
This is one of the ways in which I use my own past pains and experiences as a way to help and assist others in theirs.
