How To Know When It’s Time To Let Go
How Do You Know When It’s Time To Let Go?
If something is not working in your life (relationship, career, job etc) or if you have been hoping that something will happen or come to a fruition but still hasn’t, then ask yourself this simple question and be attentive to what your gut is telling you:
“What is indicated here?”
It’s incredible how Life responds to this – Your life will open up again in new, more enjoyable ways when you ask sincerely and are brutally honest with yourself.
Once we acknowledge that “okay, this is clearly not working”, and at the same time being open to something else, things will start to move and be shown very clearly to you.
Then the only thing we need to do next is to follow through and do exactly that which is indicated.
Usually that involves walking away from something and moving on, and if there’s a sense of relief (and even joy) then it’s the right thing to do.
Instead of continuing hitting your head against the wall and not making any headway, stop everything you do and ask that simple question.
“What is indicated here?”
And listen honestly.
It’s not a mental exercise, but a feeling exercise (intuition).
(And you could even write everything down in a journal).
It takes so much energy to keep doing what we know isn’t working and it’s draining to be pushing and trying and maybe even resisting what you already know deep within yourself to be true.
We Need To Stop Bullshitting Ourselves
And we know exactly how we do that if we are honest with ourselves and really listen to what our gut is telling us.
Using our energy on things and people we do want to have in our lives instead is so much better, and once you make the conscious decision to move on you will feel so much lighter.
When you know deep inside of you that the thing you want to have happen just won’t happen, that it’s a dead-end thing, then you really need to stop beating the dead horse – because it won’t get you anywhere.
It’s dead. Over and out. In the past. History.
Accept it and move on.
Look at what you can do instead once you have decided to let go and move on.
Resolve To Enjoy Life More
What would be more enjoyable for you and how could you use your energy and time in a more productive way?
This questions should bring a joyful feeling inside, and if there’s something in your life that you are right now letting go of then this question will undoubtedly invoke new energy in you, like a wind of fresh air being allowed into your life.
Like you can breathe again.
The relationship that don’t work, the career that is no longer satisfying you, the job that is draining you, the wish or hope that never came true, whatever it is – it’s time.
The time has come to let it all go.
Don’t let it hold you back any longer; you’ve got to let go.
If you have been hoping something will happen or come to fruition but never has (and it’s been a long time waiting and trying!), let go of the optimistic view because it’s holding you back.
The situation will get not get any better, no matter if you you try harder or stay with it/them longer.
Let go and embark on a different path where you can live in alignment with what feels more true and real to you.
Fun. Passion. Love.
Aren’t these things more enjoyable than the old draining situation that just keeps them away?
If what I’ve shared with you makes you feel lighter and relieved (and even joyful), then you know what this message was for you today.
If you don’t feel anything special, then this wasn’t for you.
This is how we know when it’s time to let go of something or someone.
Listen to your gut and you will know.
