“What does surrender mean?” (7 Key Points)
Surrender means saying YES to your Soul.
Seven key points to what surrender really means:
1.) Many people think that surrender is passive and that it means that you should just accept everything even if you don’t like or want what you’re in the midst of.
Surrender is not a passive way of living your life. It’s a very dynamic way of living where you’re dancing with the Universe and are aware of its cues and are acting on them fearlessly.
2.) Surrender means that you surrender to YOUR flow, not the flow of mass-consciousness, or what the people around you expect or want from you, or for you.
This sometimes requires courage and trust in your own inner calling and guidance, no matter what the world around you thinks.
So when the people around you who live out of alignment with the flow of Life tries to ‘help’ you with advice coming from their limited perceptive and fear-based consciousness and your Soul tells you to not do anything until you get a clear cue to take action, you choose to trust your inner guidance over the guidance of other people.
3.) Surrender is not about resignation and throwing your hands up in the air and ‘giving up’.
Surrender can sometimes come from sheer exhaustion, absolutely, that’s what happens often in the beginning, but after a few rounds of going through the surrendering process, it becomes natural and obvious, and harmonious.
You simply surrender the struggle, that’s what it all comes down to in the end, and you let that something Higher take over so it can do its part in the co-creative process of the universe.
The flow knows what you need, so trust its guidance.
4.) Surrendering to the flow, or to the Divine Will (which is the same thing), always always always takes you higher in life, always. It always has your best interest at heart, but that doesn’t mean that you don’t have to make difficult or challenging decisions in your life.
Sometimes Life asks you to do things that are scary and even intimidating (to the ego/small self), such as ending a relationship/marriage, or quitting your job, or moving to another country or city; something that is a huge leap into the New and Unknown.
The flow knows exactly where you’re going and where your greatest joy and freedom is (it knows all about your ‘next chapter’ in life) and what the next step towards that is.
And the way it guides us is through our intuition and gut feelings, so even if the choice/decision might be difficult/scary/challenging, it always ultimately leads to our best and most fulfilling life.
5.) Surrender means to release your burdens to the higher self, or God, and by doing that, you’re setting yourself free.
By letting go fully into the flow of Life (and releasing control), you’re automatically surrendering to your highest destiny.

6.) Surrender is about detachment and about trusting yourself and the unfoldment of your life.
Sometimes this means that you take action on what is shown to you (by your intuitive hunches and guidance, or via synchronicity and other signs), and sometimes it means to stay put and not do anything at all.
Today it might be that yes, you’re asked to do something, to take some kind of action (so you do it), but tomorrow it might be that you are asked to step aside and let the Higher Something do the action-part and where you just get to lean back, relax, and watch the outside world rearrange itself before your eyes without you having to lift a finger!
Surrender is the ultimate act of self-love.
7.) Surrender means that you surrender to your own joy, peace, and freedom, and it’s actually the ultimate act of self-love.
Surrendering to your own life’s flow means that you care about your own well-being so you put your alignment as the highest value in your life and you let nothing come in between you and That.
A powerful question to ask yourself in any situation or regarding any choice you’re about to make in your life is this:
“Is this in alignment with me?”, “does this feel right to me?”, “is this vibing/in harmony with me?”, and so on, and then make the most aligned decision based on what your inner guidance is telling you, fearlessly, and without hesitation.
